The Technology Transfer Network (TTN) has gone international.
The Office of Technology Alliances of the University of California, Irvine has joined the Technology Transfer Network (TTN) as an Affiliate Member.



The Technology Transfer Network (TTN), announced today (15th April 2008) at the Biolicensing Asia 2008, held in Suntec City, Singapore, that The Office of Technology Alliances of the University of California, Irvine, (UC Irvine) has joined the TTN as Affiliate Member with effect from 7th April 2008, barely two months after the inception of the TTN on 12th Feb 2008.


As an Affiliate Member, the UCI Office of Technology Alliances will be able to participate in enhanced collaboration with the network of TTN members to share best practices, leverage expertise and resources, and collaborate on networking opportunities to enhance technology transfer to the industry globally.


Mr Lim Chuan Poh, Chairman of A*STAR, commented, "With UC Irvine's Office of Technology Alliances (OTA) coming onboard as TTN's affiliate member, TTN will be well-placed to facilitate technology transfer, and advance the spirit of innovation and enterprise, to benefit companies on both sides of the Pacific. This strategic partnership will afford TTN members the leverage to tap on the capabilities and resources of OTA, and vice versa, and further enhance and maximise the potential for the commercialisation of their research outcomes."


Mr Demetri Andrikos, Director, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Office of Technology Alliances, UC Irvine, said: "We welcome the opportunity to become an affiliate member of the TTN. We look forward to the networking opportunities with industry and research institutions, and the exchange of best practices in the area of technology transfer. The TTN was founded on 12th Feb 2008 by Exploit-Technologies of A*STAR, the Nanyang Technopreneurship Center (NTC) of Nanyang Technological University, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic.

The Technology Transfer Network is a collaborative alliance of Technology Transfer Offices formed to enhance the effectiveness in the transfer of technology to the industry. The core activities of the TTN include collaboration on IP Cluster Mapping, Training & Certification of TTO professionals, Joint Marketing & Events, Technology Advisory Services, Industry Collaboration and regular dialogue and sharing of best practices.
