Proven Product Engine for Quickly Inventing Novel Clinical Drug Candidates or Repositioned Marketed Drugs

(12.45 pm - 1.30 pm)

Dr. Jay J. Wu, Ph.D will share about the latest technologies from VM Discovery and the emerging market trends in this field.
VM Discovery is a Silicon-Valley based biotech company focused on inventing and commercializing differentiated novel small-molecules drug candidates and repositioned marketed drugs to treat cancer, pain and other human diseases. The company's drug candidates are all invented in-house targeting difficult but validated or most-sought-after drug targets (e.g. ion channels, protein-protein interactions, and lipid proteins) associated with large unmet market including peripheral neuropathy, epilepsy, cardiovascular diseases, in addition to pain and cancer. VMD has strong pipeline of differentiated drug candidates in development, outstanding operational efficiency, and fast cycle-time in inventing optimized drug candidates with its proven product engine, the "VMOptimizerSM". For example, one molecule VMD designed for an US-based biopharmaceutical company, VMD-30283 has been able to enter combined Phase I/II clinical trials within 18 months as first-in-class drug candidate to treat heart attacks.
